It’s a balance of the three that we must strive to maintain. Much has been written about the benefits of better nutrition and physical fitness routines, but the medical world has only recently begun to wake up to the importance of the quantity and quality of the sleep we get.
One third of our lives should be devoted to sleep. Why?
While some people might think that spending that much time sleeping will deprive them of time spent “living and doing”, only during sleep can our bodies restore, rebuild and remember.
Science now tells us that sleep is important for:
- Learning and Memory
- Weight control
- Safety
- Mood
- Cardiovascular health
- Immune System
If we want to feel better, look better and get the most out of our lives, it is essential that we get the most out of our sleep.
