Reverie vs. Memory Foam

Wednesday, 17 August 2011 10:23

Our Reverie natural material is very different from memory foam. Besides being anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and hypo-allergenic, our natural rubber provides comfort, support and a breathable, cool night’s sleep.

Compare Reverie Material Memory Foam

How is it made?

Proprietary Reverie formulation of natural rubber manufactured to the highest standards of quality and excellence.

Petroleum based generic product made with chemicals and a wide range of quality standards by low cost manufacturers.

How does it respond to my body?

Adjusts perfectly to your body’s curves and contours. Natural rubber is one of the most responsive materials known to man.

Body heat causes the material to become softer, less responsive and slower to bounce back.

Does it have enough support?

The 8 inch thickness of Reverie natural material and over 200 individual custom support chambers allow you to rest easy and sleep in comfort every night.

Most memory foam mattresses have only 1-3 inches of foam on top of a large block of standard urethane foam. Often, in an effort to cut costs, filler material is added to achieve higher “pound density".

What about pressure points?

Our natural rubber support chambers are laid out in a softness/firmness pattern to reduce pressure on specific areas of your body like hips and shoulders.

The memory foam layer tends to compress rather than pressure relief. The urethane substrate often detracts the softness of the memory foam.

If my partner moves around will I feel it?

Each individual natural rubber air chamber is independent of the rest. If you move one, there is very little motion transfer.

Memory foam is made from petroleum, and over time it will begin to deteriorate and crumble.

Is it durable?

Our products are designed to last, and we stand behind them with a limited life time warranty on our mattress and a limited 20 year warranty on our adjustable base.

Memory foam is made from petroleum, and over time it will begin to deteriorate and crumble.

Will it make me hot at night?

Reverie’s air flow chambers keep air moving through the mattress to keep you cool – a critical element of deep, restorative and uninterrupted sleep. The natural bamboo cover is breathable and wicks moisture.

Memory foam is closed cell, therefore sleeps “hot” and is not breathable.

Is it healthy?

Natural rubber and bamboo are anti-bacterial, ant-microbial and hypo-allergenic. Add in natural rubber’s dust mite resistance and you have the right combination for a clean and healthy sleep environment.

Since memory foam is petroleum based, it can emit harmful VOC gases. The foam itself is not inherently anti-bacterial, anti-microbial or hypo-allergenic.
