The Advantages of HT Foam and Explanation:

Advantage #1

HT Foam can be softer than Dunlop latex foams and Talalay latex foams, which tend to be very springy even at low densities.
Put more scientifically, HT latex foam can be made to feel softer than any other latex foam at the same
density. Thus, a 40 kg/m3 Talalay or Dunlop latex foam topper won't feel as soft as a 40 kg/m3 HT latex foam topper.

Why is HT latex foam softer?

Many people don't realize that the preparation of the latex material before foaming actually has a much larger impact
on the feel of the material than any other steps in the latex production process. Our HT foam blend is based on over
60 years of experience dealing with latex and is a special blend of soaps and other agents mixed in a precisely
coordinated fashion to a precise temperature so as to ensure the especially “soft” HT foam feel. Moreover, the mold
design and temperature regulation play an important role in ensuring that the soft latex stands up to the high heat
involved in the vulcanization of HT Foam.

Soft foams are hard to make because they are sensitive to heat changes upon gelation. We regulate the temperature of our molds and the design
of the mold cavity to ensure that our foams can be made with a consistent “soft” feel. Finally, our proprietary foam injection and air vacuum method ensure a
full, soft foam, with even cell distribution and without hidden air cavities on the inside.

In contrast, the Dunlop process is a basic pouring and vulcanization process, while Talalay involves pouring, vacuuming, and flash freezing. Neither
of these methods is as efficient as the injection and vacuum method incorporated into the HT process.

Why is a “softer” latex foam important?

Many people don't realize that one of the most common causes of a poor night's sleep is poor blood circulation: When people sleep on a mattress
that doesn't give soft support in certain key areas (such as the hips and shoulders) blood has trouble circulating through the body. The body naturally
tosses and turns itself to try to move out of the sleeping position you are in and thereby improves blood circulation. This can cause you to wake frequently
during the night, and it may prevent you from achieving the deep sleep your body needs to rejuvenate itself.

“Springy” Talalay and Dunlop latex foams have a tendency to hug the body too tightly because they have so much spring, and thus they are not ideal
for blood circulation. HT latex foam is a high-density, long lasting latex foam with an ultra soft feel. Our softer HT latex foam gives just the right amount
of support allowing your body to settle in just enough to let the blood flow freely. This may help you achieve a deeper sleep more often, and thus make you
feel more rejuvenated and refreshed when you wake up in the morning.

Advantage #2

HT Foam is a blend of at least 70% natural latex and at most 30% man-made latex. Many Dunlop foams are 100% natural, and most Talalay foams
are over 60% man-made latex and less than 40% natural latex.

Why do manufacturers use different blends?

Many latex manufacturers in third world countries like Sri Lanka prefer using 100% natural latex because natural latex is often easier and cheaper
for them to obtain than synthetic latex.

Talalay foams, produced mainly in Europe and America, are typically made with a blend of natural and synthetic latex as well. However, unlike HT
latex foam, Talalay latex foams are usually made of 60% or more man-made latex and less than 40% natural latex, the exact opposite of the HT latex foam
blend. Why do they do this? Historically natural latex is a more expensive material than synthetic latex, AND natural latex can only be found in tropical
regions like Brazil and Southeast Asia.

For certain Talalay manufacturers in America and Europe it is too expensive to import enough natural latex to make more than a 60%
man-made/40% synthetic blend on a consistent basis. It is far easier for them to get man-made latex from factories in their home countries, where
man-made latex is more plentiful. Beware of man-made synthetic latex foams posing as a “natural” material, as this is not really
true. Any natural latex foam material ought to be composed of 70% or more natural latex.

Importance of the HT latex foam 70% natural/30% synthetic blend

Natural latex contains certain proteins that have been known to cause allergic reactions in a very small percentage of the population, while synthetic
latex is completely devoid of these proteins. Moreover, 100% natural latex foam, usually made with the Dunlop process, doesn't have the superior
open-celled quality that HT latex foam has. Thus, it is very difficult to thoroughly wash allergy causing proteins from100% natural latex foams.

Because of its combination of natural and synthetic latex and its very open celled structure, HT latex foam is more easily cleansed of proteins and
soaps that may cause allergies.

How can you tell if your latex has been washed thoroughly? Give it the smell test. If your latex has an “ammonia-like” scent it is a sign that the latex
hasn't been washed properly, you ought not use it. Many 100% natural latex products are not washed properly, and they do not pass the smell test.

Most Talalay and European Dunlop blends are made primarily of synthetic latex, meaning the material isn't “natural” and not as environmentally
friendly.

The minimum 70% natural latex requirement in all HT latex foam blends ensures the perfect combination of environmentally friendly latex foam
that is easy to clean for safe consumer use over the life of the product.

Advantage #3

HT latex foam is washed in an 8 stage washing process, with a spin washing stage that is unique to the HT process, ensuring that HT foam is the
cleanest, most environmentally friendly foam on the market.

What are the steps of your process? How is it different from what other manufacturers do?

While many manufacturers don't wash their products at all, or do very little washing, HT latex foam products go through an 8 stage washing process,
with steps no other latex manufacturer performs. A steel belt carries each HT foam pillow and topper through the 8 stage process, with 7 jet washing
and squeezing stages to wash away soaps, curing agents, and proteins, and an 8 th step unique to the HT process that involves a spin washing cycle
that thoroughly cleans out proteins and soaps hiding deep down in the foam.

No other manufacturer performs this step because it is difficult to do and involves more labor than an automated machine washing system that squeezes
water out of the pillow and sends it to dry.

Why do we do it? Even the best of the other manufacturing processes only spray water on the pillow or mattress topper and then squeeze that water
out with giant rollers. You might try this experiment for a comparison: go take a towel and rinse it in water and soap, then wring it out, and repeat 4
more times. Is the soapy water completely gone? Absolutely not. The same is true with latex foam. Washing and squeezing is not enough to
completely cleanse the product, but it is the cheapest and easiest way from a manufacturing perspective which is why many manufacturers satisfy
themselves with it and do no more to wash the product.

This is why we rinse the product through 7 stages, two more than anyone else in the latex foam industry, and then put it through an 8 th step unique to the
HT process that involves whipping out all the residual chemicals and proteins.

The result is a truly clean product.

Advantage #4

Strictest Quality control standards in the world for both pillows and mattresses.

What makes us think we have the strictest standards?

Pillows :

Some manufacturers don't do any quality control on their pillow products, and some do a minimal amount of visual inspection and “weighing” of the
product.

However, visual inspection and “weighing” is not enough for pillows. Two pillows may look exactly alike and may have the same exact weight, but
one or both may have “soft” or “firm” spots located throughout the pillow where the latex hasn't formed properly. When this pillow gets to the
consumer they will immediately notice the difference, but it is already too late.

All HT latex foam pillows are visually inspected, weighed, and tested for feel by our highly trained quality control personnel. It is the feel test that is
most important to the customer, and thus we take the “feel” test very seriously. It is the only way to spot pillows that may have internal defects that
don't show up on visual tests or weight tests. Each pillow must pass the visual test AND the feel test by two quality control engineers before it is approved
for shipment. As far as we know we are the only manufacturer in the world that implements this strict quality control criteria for pillows.

Moreover, our visual inspection for defects stage is extremely comprehensive. While some manufacturers “visual inspection” to mean watching the product
pass by on a belt, our visual inspection process involves two quality control engineers thoroughly hand inspecting EVERY pillow we produce.

Why are strict standards important for latex foam?

As a high-end bedding material consumers have the right to demand that best of latex foam. This means that latex foam should be durable, scent
free, free of latex causing allergens, dust-mite resistant and anti-bacterial, and soft enough to improve blood circulation to ensure a good night's
sleep for anyone who sleeps on it. Only HT latex foam provides all of these benefits in a truly “natural” material.

Summary

Benefits of HT Latex Foam
